The #Kurdish fight for freedom and dignity is not new. On #ThisDayInHistory in 1946, #QaziMuhammad took the #Soviets' help to declare an independent #RepublicOfMahabad in #IranianKurdistan. It lasted only until December, when Moscow revoked support for its small client state.
