My #qrplabs #qmxplus and #morserino shipment is scheduled to arrive today. When did kit radios develop such an open source vibe? Maybe the Norcal projects of the nineties? It's a strange overlap with #linux and #hamradio.

I built a #QRPLabs QMX+ 160-6m 5W CW/SSB/Digimode transceiver from a kit over the holidays. Would I build it again? Probably not. It took about 15 hours to build, pretty much just because one has to wind 20 tiny coils and transformers. There's not much to learn since most of the functionality is implemented in the closed-source firmware. You can also buy it pre-built and pre-tested for not that much more. Mine only puts out 3W on 20m and now I have to find out why.

Gave the #qrp_labs #QMXPlus a good workout in #CQWW CW. Our Multi OP at G5O was cancelled short notice so I put up a random length Inverted Vee on Saturday afternoon. Missed Sunday morning as well so mostly worked to the west.
