Well… that was a bit of a rollercoaster 🎢

First competition back after a few months off, and my first ever event in the USA, playing the Orlando Championship at Rio Pinar Country Club on the Florida Professional Golf Tour. Excited, nervous, rusty… pretty much the full set.

Shot a 79 (+7) and if I’m being totally honest, it could have been a lot worse. The shoulder is still only about 50% and there’s plenty of pain there, so swinging freely just isn’t happening yet. Long game was pretty appalling by my standards and I definitely didn’t hole anywhere near as many putts as I’d expect to.

That said, it was a really good experience on a tight, tricky golf course that doesn’t give you much for free. Currently sitting T24 and still a chance to improve with how bunched the leaderboard is.

Another 18 holes tomorrow… let’s see what we can scramble out of it 👊⛳️

Over the past few weeks, I’ve gone through the full rollercoaster of Open qualifying: making it through regionals and falling just short at finals. Of course, there’s disappointment… but there’s also perspective, pride, and so much gratitude.

The support of Quest For The Open has been unreal. From DMs to people showing up in person — I’ve truly felt how many of you are on this journey with me. Thank you 🙏

Two words keep coming up:

“Proud.”
So many of you have said you’re proud of this year, the comps, the progress, the QFTO. I’ve always known people were watching, but I didn’t realise how deeply you’re invested. It’s humbling.

“Inspiring.”
This one’s harder to process, makes me squirm a little — I’ve never seen myself that way and frankly wouldn’t trust the feeling if I did. But if the journey, the videos have helped you push harder or believe in what’s possible, then that’s what QFTO is all about.

“Will I go again?”
I’m playing the best golf of my life and honestly feel there’s more in the tank, from mental work to physical.

The QFTO continues — and I’m so grateful to have you along for the ride ❤️

Thank you to everyone who came out and watched @[email protected] for @[email protected] qualifying. It was amazing to meet many of you in person, the support meant the world ❤️

Also, the number of messages I received last evening has been overwhelming. I love that people follow along with #QFTO, but honestly, I didn’t expect this outpouring of support. It’s incredible 🥹

The lads are working hard on the vid, and it’ll hopefully be out for Thursday. I’ll also let everyone know about the venue and time for final qualifying.
