Most of these institutions were good in throwing new projects out, but there is really no appeal for any academic to write a paper about fixing one-off bug in some software package. Thus the horrible state of numpy and so on.
I've spent 3 days volunteering at the ๐จ๐ฟ Czech #Python community conference, #PyConCZ. I am exhausted, overwhelmed with emotions and I feel like it was a week. After 4 years of no Czech PyCon, this was the biggest one ever and I am not getting any younger. Doing this and meeting all the folks was very emotional and intense for me. The amount of praise we received in person from visitors is extraordinery. I'm still shiverring.
This event was phenomenal ๐ ๐

I got to spend the past 4 days with incredible people from the Czech Python community and pythonistas all around the world.
Learning, inspiring, getting inspired and just having plain old fun.
When I got to the hotel last night, I felt emotionally, socially and professionally fulfilled.
Most importantly, I felt like I was with a community belong in. With friends โ new and old.
anezkamll๐ ๐ #PyConCZ23 is over. I am tired but happy - we managed to revive the conference after a long Covid break and it was a blast! ๐
