edintrev'The Strange Case of Doctor Jekyll and Mister Hyde' was inspired by a real person. Deacon Brodie was a respected cabinet maker, a gentleman and city councillor during the day. However, he would make copies of his clients' house keys and return at night some time later to ransack their houses. The sign outside Deacon Brodie's Tavern reflects this dual nature on its two sides, shown here next to each other.

This Is My GlasgowThe sign for The Aragon in the West End of Glasgow. Despite the appearance of this sign, it only opened in 1970, making it one of the newer pubs on Byres Road. Before that, it was a Butcher's Shop.

I check the swpc.noaa website quite often as I like to see what the sun's 'face' looks like, what the auras are up to and I find the solar wind prediction model incredibly soothing... A bit like the BBC shipping forecast.

The carved wooden sign outside the Bon Accord on North Street in Glasgow. Opening in 1971, it was one of the first real ale pubs in Glasgow and it remains so to this day. I'm not too sure when the sign dates from, but it's not present in a photo taken in 1991.
