Emboldened by the rapid removal of the Truss government, Remainers have engaged in a new campaign of anti-Brexit propaganda that relies even less on reasoned argument than its predecessors. Supposedly well-informed observers have, in recent weeks, made a series of wild and mostly baseless claims about the costs of Brexit. With minimal push back from government and the opportunity now arising to conflate Brexit issues with a looming economic recession, we can only expect this avalanche of nonsense to continue – further dragging the reputation of the economics profession into the mud.
