In 1966, Hansson saw American jazz organist Jack McDuff perform at Stockholm's Gyllene Cirkeln Club, and was so captivated by the performance that he decided to leave The Merrymen to expand his musical horizons. Encouraged by fellow Merryman Bill Öhrström, he eventually acquired his own Hammond organ. Öhrström became an A&R man and producer at Polydor Sweden, and introduced Hansson to other musicians, one of whom was drummer Janne Carlsson. Hansson and Carlsson immediately hit it off and were signed by Polydor under the band name Hansson & Karlsson, playing up-tempo Hammond organ based music and releasing three albums between 1967 and 1969. - Wikipedia

The album was recorded in Studio Decibel 1971 by Torbjörn Falk. The record has been reissued twice: in 1995 on Silence Records and 2011 on Silence Records and Japanese Arcàngelo. The 1995 version included two bonus songs recorded live in 1972 at the Gothenburg Art Museum. On the 2011 edition there is another bonus song, recorded at Festen at Gärdet 1971.

Sov gott Rose-Marie (Sleep tight, Rose-Marie) is the 1968 debut album of International Harvester, the second incarnation of the Stockholm-based band Pärson Sound. Pärson Sound's drone-based experimental rock sound, inspired by The Velvet Underground, Terry Riley and the Rolling Stones, was filtered through a more folky, nationally inspired sound, in hopes to "create a more temporary kind of rhythmic music that could play the same role as traditional folk music."

The push towards a national, anti-imperialist sound came with the pseudo-dystopian mindset that prevailed in the Sweden of the 1960s, something that stood in dire contrast to the 'peace and love' ethos of hippy idealism. Hansson & Karlsson was a Swedish duo consisting of Bo Hansson (organ) and Janne Carlsson (drums). The name Carlsson being written with a K instead of a C in the name of the band was initially just a mis-print in an early poster (both spellings being common in Swedish).

The band was active in the last few years of the 1960s and played instrumental jazz fusion, largely based on improvisation and are considered one of the pioneers of progressive rock. Hansson and Carlsson played a few times with Jimi Hendrix in Stockholm, and Hendrix recorded the Hansson & Karlsson piece "Tax Free". - Wikipedia

Älgarnas Trädgård were a psychedelic and progressive rock band from Sweden which is found on the Nurse With Wound list.

...what a fantastic offering...it slowly extends into meta-improvisations with distant guitars, heavily effected organs, swirling strings, plenty of space, reaching an early peak-build amidst the detritus floating through the 12-minute "Interstellar Cruise." Later, an Eastern-themed campfire freakout (sitars, tablas, Yod-chant) breaks out, then a bit of the mellow reverbed flute, later still a long vocal loop fade out over some well placed drones. One could say this record has a bit of everything. One would be correct. Astonishing that it has lain dormant in the vaults for so long. - Forced Exposure.
