Some of Scar Symmetry's stuff is really more #ProgDeath than #MeloDeath . Really liking this album

Currently checking out #TheReticent - Please.
Too deathy for me. The theme is mental health, and it has non-music, narrated passages that don't do it for me.

10 track album
Upcoming friday is again #BandcampFriday. Good chance to buy some #music and have 100% of proceedings go to artists (or their label^^'). Afaik the cut of #bandcamp is usually 10% which is still lower than other platforms.
What songs or albums will you go for? I am thinking some more #DeathMetal / #ProgDeath... last time I bought Colored Sands by Gorguts. Behold the Arctopus is also a band on my "to buy" list. Trying to build up my music collection a bit more again to get away from #spotify (even though I already account share with my wife and she might be hard to convince).
#Gorguts Pleiades Dust - a 30min+ #ProgDeath #DissoDeath song - what more do you want? Yet more cinematic and atmospheric than the Colored Sands album (which is my favorite of theirs) and great album/song. Also again really interesting theme with the House of Wisdom (I'll post wiki article into the thread)

If you are looking for some more esoteric bands in #DeathMetal #BlackMetal #DoomMetal #ProgDeath #AvantGardeBlackMetal, I can heartily recommend this video

Come for the album top list, stay for the amazing #musictheory #metalmusictheory insights.
Also my last post was straight up one of the recommendations from this vid :D

It's #BandcampFriday - purchases are free of the usual 10%ish(?) cut that bandcamp takes and proceedings go straight to the Musicians and/or label.
My choice was Coloured Sands by Gorguts
https://gorguts.bandcamp.com/album/colored-sands
one of my absolute favorite albums of the last years and probably all times.

9 track album
It seems as I grow older I get more fond of #DissonantDeathMetal ... I was always into proggy and techy death metal, but disso used to miss me. It has a lot of interesting subtlety and actually beautiful (dis)harmonies and I feel like I get a whole new appreciation for what DeathMetal can be through it

This track is badass. That is all.
