#kdrama #TheManipulated

This prison looks very different from the prison in #PrisonPlaybook.

Uh, yeah, beware the guys who want to befriend the newbie who was charged with rape, I guess.

And now his little brother is DEAD?! 😧

Heckin' yikes.

Holy spork!

That's a lot of daily violence. Yee-ouch.

Rocky training montage?

Stealing food from a priest! Err, altar boy? Altar ... man?

What are those passport book thingies?

The gun in this image reminds me of today's funniest #kdrama moment in #PrisonPlaybook. There was a gun lying on a table and it had a warning sticker on it saying that it shouldn't be operated by anyone under the age of 9!
They also used the phrase:
하늘의 별 따기 (Plucking a Star from the Sky), meaning something that is enticing but nearly impossible to attain.
I've been enjoying an assortment of #kdrama lately and I especially enjoy that I no longer need to stare at the subtitles throughout a show, understanding more and more of the dialogue these days.
I really enjoyed season 2 of #LoveAlarm, which was less of a conventional romcom than a story about a young woman connecting to her complex feelings. I especially loved that she was running a marathon in #Jeju during the final episode.
Watching #PrisonPlaybook and it's as good as I was told, or better.

ML, #JungHaeIn can be seen in #PrisonPlaybook and more but my fave of his so far is #OneSpringNight. 😍😍 Totally agree on #JungSoMin. I am liking the direction of #LoveNextDoor.

#kdrama #soundeffects

Anyone else here not a fan of the soundeffects used in quite a few romcom or comedy kdramas?

For some reason I haven't minded the bleeting goat or whistling bird effect found in the Reply series when someone makes a goof.
(It's also present in #PrisonPlaybook and #HospitalPlaylist which are from the same director and some writers )

But for some reason I don't like the sound of fireworks for romance, the ting ting sound when someone is blinking cutely or the tiger growl when someone is angry.

Are the noises necessary? IDK. Is it a sign of bad writing that they're chosen to be included? IDK. I just know that as I am trying out 2 new dramas, the noises are distracting and frankly taking away a bit of my enjoyment.

@KDramaQn I've found out today that the director is the same in the Reply #kdramas
I loved #Reply1988 and #Reply1997 . I ditched #Reply1994 at the first episode but it probably deserves another chance.
Anyway #PrisonPlaybook is worth a rewatch 😉
@ronsboy67 I haven't watched the #kdramas you mentioned. I'd recommend #PrisonPlaybook to a newbie because it has many elements of US TV series in the same genre. The gangs, the violence, the struggle for power, the dark humour...
#kdrama
@ronsboy67 it's dark humour. The fact that the ML is clumsy at the beginning or the fights among the cell mates. The drug addict and the engineer always go at each other. Then there's the whole body guard squad when the guy who previously injured the ML is assigned to their cell.
