Signs of a European brown bear on the #Prespa lakeshore this morning - one of those moments when absence feels more like a presence, imagining the steps of this great being across the sands the night before.

A recent genetic study (which meant volunteering to collect fresh #bear scat while out walking!) tells us there are at least 51 individual bears in the shared watershed, some crossing the borders between Greece, Albania and North Macedonia in what is their much greater landscape of home.
