Update on the #Prescientx #BreatheMask #Breathe2 issue: customer service got back to me very quickly and are sending a replacement because they have a 1-year warranty.

Still annoyed because 7 months is really short and it's the mask that was worn the most (maximum an hour or two per week; we don't get out much), but hey, at least we're going to have another 7 months' worth (or more, hopefully 🤞 ) of use. I'm hoping this was just a faulty one-off because a lot of other people seem to have no issues with theirs, but I'm putting it out there just in case.

@luvcie I make them, but just for myself. The technique is super easy, though, and I'd be happy to help you source the supplies! The only "hard" part (which isn't that hard) is sewing some good stitches into the elastic band around the housing so that it stays on.

Do you wear an elastomeric? If so, what kind? Mine is a #breathe2 by #PrescientX, but I think you could do it with a #FloMask too.

My two #Prescientx Breath #masks arrived!

A few observations:

-Comfortable, very easy to breathe through.

-The Gen 2 mask appears to just be the Gen 1 mask plus a conversion kit. I'm not sure if this is their long term plan, but I ordered one of each and got two full Gen 1 masks plus parts to upgrade one of them.

-I am confident this is a better fit than my old Can99e masks, but also the better seal makes me acutely aware of the gaps.

Not only does my #PrescientX mask prevent me from contracting or spreading airborne viruses, it’s also super effective at keeping my nose toasty warm when I’m out on a 20 min errand on foot through minus 27/minus 38 windchill. Unlike N95s or scarves, it also catches all the condensation so my face isn’t dripping with moisture. I don’t know why everyone in #Ottawa doesn’t have one of these today.

#Freedom

Does anyone understand the filtration test results for the breathe(tm) mask from #PrescientX ? I get the impression they're a bunch of numbers to disguise the fact that it's less effective than an N95 mask, but happy to be proven wrong.
What is the recommended way to care for a #PrescientX breathe mask? Just let it air dry after each use?
