Exactly 0 (zero) of my classmates died of the flu in my youth. We considered that to be normal. But then our immune systems weren't trashed by years of Covid infections.
This "new normal" is unacceptable. Or at least it should be.

Das mögen manche nicht als ehrbaren Verdienst sehen, oder gar als vollständige Entwertung des Bundesverdienstkreuzes.
Aber es steht ja wohl ausser Frage, dass dadurch ordentlich verdient wurde! /s

One note about our health minister (for a few more weeks) Karl Lauterbach: yes, he's different from Bonnie Henry in that he doesn't lie about the effects of Covid. But he's also very much like Bonnie Henry in that he did absolutely nothing for prevention after "normality" was declared in Germany.
