Kongs, crates, and long walks help minimize chewing misbehavior.
Just in case no one has already told you, when house-training a puppy, it is vital to get the urine scent out of the hard floors and carpets. Ordinary soap is not enough. You need to use a product specifically made for urine stains. Treat every spot where the dog has ever urinated, soaking and spot-drying any carpet stains to get deep into the padding.
(Another important part of the process is to complain loudly as you clean any fresh indoor pee/poop, so the dog knows you are not happy and even a bit angry about it.)
Dogs will pee & poop wherever they smell pee & poop.
Also, instantly reward and give HUGE praise for every outside pee & poop, preferably while pup is still outside.

If you want a good grounding in dog behaviour and training, and can spend a week in Maryland at Peaceable Paws with renowned trainer and trainer of trainers, Pat Miller, it's so worthwhile! In the level one academy, you are matched up with a local shelter dog on Monday and work with them all week long between classroom sessions, with final exams (written and practical) on Saturday. There are scholarships available, too!
