Eating at À do Pinto in Faro: charred goat cheese with thyme and honey, pan-fried whole squid, clams, and house cataplana (Portuguese stew with seafood and pork).
Cataplana and gumbo definitely have fascinatingly overlapping flavor profiles
the waiter was also hilarious. my dad pronounced “dois” (two) like “ducha” (douche) and we were all extremely amused.
