Love everything about this, from the always insightful Bec Shaw. @brocklesnitch

Being recognised & greeted by our local cats & dogs & magpies - along with watching trees, & sky, & looking at other people’s houses & gardens & wondering about their lives - is the big joy in my daily walk (yes I am autistic. Surprise!!). My own two ditsy rescue cats are equal citizens & happiness engines in their own scruffy home & (enclosed) garden.

Downside of taking cat responsibilities seriously is that my partner & I can never go away together! Please Bec, if you’re up for a holiday in Melbourne please be in touch. We need more people like you.

More than that, I wish you - & everyone - had your own safe home. Cowardice & abrogation of responsibility in housing policy is normal in Australia, even though the evidence has been in for decades. That is continues is a choice. We see you, our federal Labor government, & will vote accordingly.

Renting has robbed me of precious cat years. So I’ve turned to pet-sitting to fill the void

To ward off becoming a crazy catless lady, I look after other people’s pets while they’re away

@charlesrandall once again, #PolicyChoices. Government officials allow this and every other catastrophe befalling us in support of #Capitalism and #Consumerism. What a marvelous trip, this modern day life is.

Cost of Living: We've talked about the "choice" between heating or eating for many years, but now we're into treating. And staying alive.

Disabled children can’t afford to use their ventilators this winter. Politicians need to face reality

It’s not fearmongering to suggest that in the absence of proper state support this winter, people are going to die, says Guardian columnist Frances Ryan

> “#neoliberal” consensus is based on what might be called “really existing free market doctrine”.. the rich and powerful must shelter under the wings of the nanny state.. In accord.. public spending after 17 years of #Thatcherite gospel is the same 42 1/4% of GDP.. These are not the consequences of “#EconomicLaws” or what “the #FreeMarket has decided, in its.. wisdom,” as.. alleged. Rather, they are the results of deliberate #PolicyChoices under really existing #FreeMarketDoctrine,..
