Today:
- my garden tasks were good ones, spreading homegrown compost and planting out some of the veg I grew from seed
- I enjoyed my regular treat of a scone and pot of tea at the garden cafe
- I had some freshly-picked homegrown asparagus and it was so delicious
Today, I:
- finished painting the garden wall out front
- enjoyed a cold glass of lemon fizzy after painting because it was HOT out there
- made old style curried egg sandwiches on Vogels Dark Rye for lunch

Today, I:
- had something of a breakthrough on a paper I am writing
- got the washing dry
- accompanied hubby on a trip to Okains Bay because I could, and we saw two kereru
Today:
- I spotted lots of baby fruit on the currant bushes and look forward to picking it in a couple of months
- there was good news about a new job for a family member
- it rained a little in the afternoon and there was that wonderful petrichor smell
I am immensely amused by husband's gleeful handing out sweets to assorted neighbourhood kids ranging from about 4 to 16 years of age.
Hard to be sure who is having a better time. And isn't that what life is all about?

Today:
- it was pleasantly warm after the cool weather we’ve had recently
- I did a little more on one of my least favourite garden tasks, lifting the paving stones on the paths that divide up the veg garden, so I can weed under them properly. Today I was working next to thyme plants and could enjoy their wonderful scent. My favourite culinary herb and insects love it!
- I found a book that appealed to me in the local Lilliput library
Woke up feeling sad and anxious.
Burned some incense and baked potatoes about it. May have grumpily chanted in Latin at various shadows.
Perhaps pointless, yet everyone's mood improved.
Also, potatoes.
Today:
- I got a little gardening in before the weather turned very cold and wet
- there were good leftovers for dinner
- I’m appreciating my hot water bottle, which I haven’t needed in a while. Simple technology for the win! I’ve never quite trusted electric blankets because a friend’s bed caught fire from one when we were teenagers
