I was unhappy with the movement of enemies in my #playdate #towerdefense game. I was using a flow field that made them hug the walls, which then led to jitter. I switched to a zone based system. I split the map into regions, then path find to the midpoint between zones. #indiedev

Something I wanted to do for a while: using the accelerometer to add an effect when tilting the playdate. It's not my first try to get it right, I struggled with the maths, but today's implementation pleases me!
It's only used in the menu so it won't distract during the levels (they are hard enough 😇)

A bit of progress. I think the sample loader is mostly done for now. Now it handles errors correctly and loads samples in chunks to avoid hanging the UI for long samples, displaying a % indicator as it goes. This is quite important on device, as there it can take a lot longer to load larger samples.

Should probably set a smaller limit on the sample size for this (at the moment 8MB of F32 mono sample data).
