Just got my copy of a vegan cookbook written come to find out by a fasch-y, anti-vax🇨🇦but will keep it b/c the plant based recipes are phenomenal & inventive.. but not thrilled w/her politics
We have a food production problem all around & using sludge microplastics is a also a big part of it but the root is #fossilFuel dependence #plasticIsTheNewCoal
There are sustainable ways to produce🐓🐮🐷but it’s expensive & we consume too much in general
This goes into all other aspects of consumption from plastic fiber clothing & electronics we use disposably
Personally we have cut down our animal product consumption to pretty low levels but there’s also room for improvement
Realistically don’t see myself going💯vegan but we do our best to get close as we can🌈🌈

I know it’s difficult to believe in 2024 that there are people that don’t understand polyester & microfiber are essentially plastic…
It wasn’t until 2015 during a required textile science class for 1 year fashion design AAS that i realized…& yes I feel dumb for not knowing earlier! But my hatred of poly from feel goes back practically to age toddler😂

When I was 16 w/out a dime to my name & working full time, I would invest in 2 nice pieces a year w/my employee discount. They don’t last forever, but decades for certain
This stuff gets dumped in landfills nearly immediately or falls apart

Forget about #cocaCola & their secret recipe, Singer makes a motor lubricant, not to be mistaken w/sewing machine oil, that has a secret formula nobody knows?!?!
Unfortunately packaging is plastic, which cannot be good for whatever that formula is… so went on eBay & the prices border on ridiculous
Managed to find a reasonably priced one in decent shape totaling $7 including shipping, but tbd if it still functions…
One of these is just the boxes..

It wasn’t until 2015 while taking a requisite textile science class for fashion design that I became aware polyester was a #fossilFuel product as were the plastic bottles
At minimum, (stats probs increased from several years ago last I checked) 60% of new clothing made today is #fossilFuelFiber #microfiber #plasticIsTheNewCoal #plasticPollution #methane
