Capturing the Beauty of NGC 6979: Pickering's Triangle in the Night Sky

This article showcases NGC 6979, Pickering's Triangle, a part of the larger Veil Nebula in the constellation of Cygnus.

#SkyWatch #Astrophotography The #VeilNebula is a supernova remnant about 2400 light years away in the #Cygnus constellation. When the star exploded to create the supernova 10,000 to 20,000 years ago, it would have been brighter than Venus and visible during the day. This image, taken with a 250mm lens, shows the #WesternVeil on the left and #PickeringsTriangle in the upper right. I will revisit this subject again in the future to try to capture the whole Veil in the same frame. #StillLearning
