L'Unità: Catania, accoltella la moglie in strada: la donna voleva separarsi, marito catturato dopo la fuga
Accoltellata mentre era in strada giovedì sera nel quartiere Picanello, a Catania. È l’aggressione subita ieri sera da una donna di 51 anni, ricoverata d’urgenza all’ospedale Cannizzaro di Catania dove è stata sottoposta a un delicato intervento chirurgico per le ferite riportate al torace, collo, addome, arti superiori e inferiori. Per lei è stato poi disposto il trasferimento alla clinica Morgagni, perché si è reso necessario anche un intervento di cardiochirurgia.
Ad aggredirla sarebbe stato il marito, principale sospettato del tentato omicidio: l’uomo, un 56enne con precedenti penali, era uscito dal carcere qualche settimana fa dopo aver scontato parte della pena per reati contro il patrimonio.
Secondo quanto riferisce il Corriere della Sera, la vittima aveva deciso di separarsi e proprio questo sarebbe il movente dietro l’aggressione avvenuta in strada, quando il marito ha raggiunto la moglie a bordo di uno scooter e, dopo una lite, ha estratto un coltello da cucina colpendola più volte. La vittima avrebbe cercato riparo in un negozio, ma è stata raggiunta e colpita con diverse coltellate.
Il 56enne ha poi abbandonato lo scooter e il coltello scappando a piedi. L’uomo è stato fermato questa mattina dai carabinieri del comando provinciale di Catania proprio nel rione Picanello, il quartiere in cui ieri sera avrebbe accoltellato la moglie: dopo la cattura è stato condotto nella caserma dell’Arma per essere interrogato.

She was stabbed on Thursday evening while walking on the street in the Picanello neighborhood of Catania. It was the attack suffered yesterday evening by a 51-year-old woman, admitted urgently to the Cannizzaro Hospital in Catania where she underwent a delicate surgical intervention for the injuries she sustained to her chest, neck, abdomen, upper and lower limbs. She was then transferred to the Morgagni Clinic, as a cardiac surgery intervention was also necessary.
The man, her husband and the main suspect in the attempted murder, had allegedly attacked her: the 56-year-old, with a criminal record, had been released from prison a few weeks earlier after serving part of his sentence for crimes against property.
According to Corriere della Sera, the victim had decided to separate and this is believed to be the motive behind the attack that occurred on the street, when the husband reached his wife on a scooter and, after an argument, pulled out a kitchen knife, stabbing her multiple times. The victim sought refuge in a store, but was reached and stabbed with several knives.
The 56-year-old then abandoned the scooter and the knife, fleeing on foot. The man was apprehended this morning by the Carabinieri of the provincial command of Catania in the Picanello district, the neighborhood where he allegedly stabbed his wife yesterday evening: after his arrest, he was taken to the Arma barracks for questioning.
