Let me start #AfricanAmericanHistory month with something positive. I have been writing a chapter for my new book on race and theories of child development. Part of the work is historical and I stumbled upon Dr. Ruth Howard, the 2nd African American woman to earn a PhD in psychology. (she was known to those who know these things, but new to me.)
