@starlily @alice IIRC #PayPal was how #PeterSteal made most of his money in the first place. As to #Stripe, capitalist gangsters love to offer you "alternatives" that aren't really alternatives at all, but disguised versions of the very thing you're trying to avoid.

@alice I just looked at Stripe's Wikipedia page, and found, among other things, this gem:

"In May 2011, Stripe received a $2 million investment from venture capitalists Peter Thiel, Elon Musk, Sequoia Capital, SV Angel, and Andreessen Horowitz."

So from early on it was backed by #PeterSteal and #ElonTheFelon. Gangsters.
