I've updated my open science presentation [1][2] for today's #YUFE /Yufering [3] half-day workshop that is intended to promote open science networking in our universities. No idea whether I'll have any success in trying to convince people that open science has to be #FOSS and has to be done with #ParticipatoryDecisionMaking if it's to really make sense as #OpenScience. But I'll try :).

#OpenScience needs *both* #FOSS and #ParticipatoryDecisionMaking

Draft talk (10-15 mins) for 21 Nov 2024 for #Yufering OSc f2f+online workshop [1].
MRs @Codeberg [2] or here welcome. :)

Could #OpenScience be a vector for evolving feudal-type university ecosystems towards the efficiency of GNU/Linux/Debian/Wikipedia/Decidim?

Could we avoid paying the #CognitiveSecrecyTax [3]?

@elplatt

Very nice doctoral thesis on large-scale #ParticipatoryDecisionMaking [1] :).

The overall model and strategy of analysing real-world #Wikipedia data (this is #WikiResearch) and doing a controlled experiment look good in my quick browse, and the results appear to be valid.

You might want to study real-world usage of #Decidim [2] and #Consul [3] (other packages: [4]).
