You know what? The irony is not lost on me that we know *exactly* what's wrong with all of those #MediaTools that we coin new terms / concepts to describe them while we still make heavy use of them ... because of ... "engagement" 🤢

Walk the talk, people! If you'd want to persuade / influence others about your own ideas, I'd appreciate leading by example. Stop justifying your own use of such toxic tools! 😤

@FeralRobots @davidgerard I keep explaining the difference to people that "social" media these days isn't actually about your social connections any more: Mastodon is just about the last place where you have conversations, rather than An Audience. #ParaSocialMedia
