Turns out, you shouldn't rely too much on documentation. The power cables to retrofit a radio ware NOT switched by the ignition, but are connected directly to the battery instead.

Now I have to rework my wiring harness and somehow make it ignition switched.

Also, the speaker case doesn't fit on the left side, it's a centimeter or so too large.

So, what if one of the key cylinders on the car was replaced because it was broken at one time in the past and now you have two keys?

Constraint: you can't just order a new one from the car manufacturer, too old.

Solution: re-code an existing key cylinder! 😁

So, the new #Panda roof liner arrived today. In one piece. From Slowenia. And the package looks reasonably well! Really exciting, as DHL sometimes manages to damage less far traveled packages. Can say I'm pleasantly surprised 😁

Fingers crossed that the content is as good as one can judge by the state of the package. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

First things first: road legality. Italians have no problem putting bulbs with "Not for use in EUROPE" in their headlights 😅 I mean, I would have neither, if it wasn't for German insurances.

Also, the electric height adjustment motor was missing on the right headlight.

Switched both headlights to TYC brand replacements, as they are legal for use with H4 bulbs. They seem to work quite fine. No need for half-legal stuff.

So, this is the #Panda #Youngtimer before I got a hold of it. 21 years of age, 76Mm and in an okay-ish state. Mandatory general inspection in Italy: sure, y not? German inspector probably just would've lold 😅

Most urgent: change axle boot and all liquids, make it completely road legal again
Less urgent: clean everything and replace everything that's worn down
Least urgent: put in some gimmicks like a stereo 😁
