El pasado 14 de marzo se conmemoró el día internacional del número π (pi). #piday

Para tal evento, no hay mejor manera de honrarlo que sentarte delante de tu televisor y proyectar la película que os traigo hoy en la #retroreseña.

Querría haberme pasado antes por aquí para escribir la recomendación. Perdonadme, pero últimamente ando muy liadillo.

¿Pero de qué película os hablo? Pues de Pi: orden en el caos. Es la opera prima de Darren Aronofsky. Ganadora del prestigioso premio del festival de Sundance. Este gran debut del cineasta americano le abrió las puertas de Hollywood y fue el comienzo de su carrera, allá por el año 1998.

Un interesante thriller, rodado íntegramente en blanco y negro y con un un ambiente opresor e inquietante para el espectador. La película está rodada y montada con un presupuesto bajísimo. Con esos mimbres, el resultado es muy loable.

Si habéis visto Requiem por un sueño (obra del mismo director) sabréis a qué me refiero. Sin duda, es la película que mayor desasosiego y malestar me ha generado nunca. De hecho, la vi en su día y no he querido volver a revisitarla.Huid de su "obra maestra" y quedaros con su primera película.

Max, nuestro protagonista, es un brillante matemático que busca patrones numéricos en todos los actos del día a día. La misma naturaleza misma se rige por ellos y él está convencido que hay una lógica y un patrón para explicar cualquier fenómeno.

Esta búsqueda le lleva a averiguar el funcionamiento de la bolsa mundial. Pronto, sus investigaciones, se cruzan con un mecanismo similar en La Torá judía. ( Si no lo sabéis, cada palabra del abecedario hebreo corresponde con un número. Esta dualidad ha llevado, durante siglos, a los estudiosos del judaismo a buscar un patrón en la biblia hebrea).

Búsqueda de verdades, patrones, proporción áurea , relación con temas filosóficos y religiosos... Suena un poco sesudo, pero en realidad, la película te tiene en tensión y la historia está muy bien llevada, sin hacerse pesada en absoluto.

Es cierto que ante la situación actual de conflicto en Oriente Medio, mi estima hacia el pueblo judío no está en sus mejores momentos. Durante el visionado no he podido evitar pensar en ello y me ha fastidiado un poco la experiencia. Pese a ello, aquí os dejo esta recomendación.

Punch a bully (as any Irishperson would), have a glass of your favourite and toast Peace, and then, having had horror, feasting, emperorcide, a brief rest, and a day where the craic is hopefully grand, you have my permission to TAKE THE NEXT TWO DAYS OFF and recover yourself.

So it seems everyone loved the #PiDay #RaspberryPi @fedora images of #f44 for the #RPi5 as the blog has had well over 3500 hits in 36 hours and 500 odd downloads of the images and we even even hit well up on hacker news! I have a few more things to try and get working before the freeze for 44 as time permits. What do people like the most? What needs polish?
