Unfortunately our enjoyment of the venue was slightly tempered by the fact that the sound guys ran it WAY too fucking loud. My watch kept throwing up safety notifications because the music was constantly over 90db. We had the same problem in the Royal Theater. It didn’t even occur to me that I would need ear plugs to enjoy the show. 👎

But at least it was Glitch Mob pounding my skull.

You have to see them in motion to really appreciate what the robot screens can do. A lot of very clever engineering went into building this piece of stage craft. #RoyalCaribbean #OvationOfTheSeas

The Two70 lounge at the back of the ship cost $33 million to build and is a remarkably advanced performance venue. Eighteen 8k projectors are linked together to produce a 72k high fidelity projection against screens that slide down to cover the rear windows. Six 12k OLED screens mounted on assembly line robot armatures move around to provide additional imagery.

Ten sections in the stage floor operate as elevatable platforms and trap doors.
