I remember Luxon promised during campaign period in previous election that there will be more EV chargers. Ofc I did not believe him. But now they're doing it... and we know exactly why because of fuel prices. Except... it's not helping people who use fuel?

And now the truth about Govt imposed rates-caps on local-bodies. —Rates-caps will almost certainly guarantee significantly increased rents for pensioners etc in social housing in many areas; as people who need social housing are mostly vulnerable people with little or no other options, hence are a soft target for councils to gouge with little blowback.
Indeed, imposed rates-caps are INTENDED to do exactly this - they are designed to force local-bodies to sell off your public assets and services, and become increasingly payer-uses. They are ACT Party ideology being undemocratically forced on us at local level.
If the proposed rates-caps go ahead, let's hope the general public step up and defend vulnerable people so they're not such a soft target for right-leaning councils. Even better, let's make this a #OneTermGovernment
