Double Ewe, Tea, Eff Day Even Is It!?!?

This must be a little what it feels like to be lost in space.

Short blog, for those out there following along at home.

As you know, a few months ago, I started a new Fitness Challenge thing, just to see if I could do it. One More Push Up Every Day, but I did 5 a day for the first five days.... Then I did 10 a day until day number 10. Then 11, then 12, then 13, etc.

It was going well, and I was pretty happy with it. Ok, I wasn't HAPPY, per say. Pushups suck. As an old guy who's never really done any strength training at all, especially upper body , they were awful. Every damn day, the last 2 or 3 were very much a struggle bus.

Well, December, frigg'n December, busy, gig-full, medical school-full, let's not kid around PARTY full December really kicked the crap out of my challenge. I had made it to the high 80's when the wheels came off.

So here's my plan. I started the first challenge on an arbitrary day, so there's no reason Take 2 can't also be on an arbitrary day too. January 1st, I'm going to start again. 25 per day, until Jan 25th, and then 1 more per day, till day 100.

Then, I'll see where I go from there

Cheers eh

Ok, a bit of a blog here....

81 days ago, I started a Do One More Push Up Every Day , quest, adventure, thing.....

For transparency, the first 5 days, I did 5 pushups a day.... From day 6-10, I did 10 and from then on, I added one more each day.

There have been a couple of missed days, so I did the missed day AND that days Pushups, with a good long break in between.

There have also been a couple of "light" days where to give myself a bit of a break I did them on my knees, or against my desk instead of flat off the floor.

I'm doing my "sets" to near failure, and then resting for about a minute in between to let my breathing and heart rate recover a bit... my first set is often 25.... my 2nd sets are often about 15.... The last 2 or 3 pushups a day, I'm NGL are fucking hard to achieve.

Today was Day 81. I cannot believe I'm staring down the barrel of 100. The thought of it makes me want to absolutely barf.

I think my original "plan" was to do this for a year. I don't know if that's a particularly smart move for a guy my age, who until now has done FK and ALL for "Strength Training" all his life... The Beer Drinker in me wants to get to 100, dust my hands off, and call it FINISHED!

The Green Lantern in me (who should really just admit he's more a Blue Lantern) wants to keep going.

I wish I'd taken a shirtless picture on the day I started.

So I donno.... Comment, for fun. Be supportive if ya can.... Shake a PomPom for me and I'd really appreciate it
