A ★★★★½ review of One Fine Morning (2022)

One fine morning is one fine film. Lea Seydoux' interpretation is subtle, smart and wonderfully downsized. Melvil Poupaud makes an excellent 'love interest'. France delivers such films that focus on real humans a lot, but never enough. The characters are not just persona but have true depth, including all of their insecureties, greef and care in abundance. Sandra is torn between two emotionally unavailable men: her beloved father and this new surreptitious boyfriend, to whom Hansen-Løve has given the rather too-good-to-be-true interesting job of cosmochemist, studying meteorites and the like.
