Growing up without access to most popular culture means that there are still many cultural touchstones I haven't yet caught up on. Earlier this week, I watched The Matrix for the first time. I have not stopped thinking about it since. I've watched clips of my favorite scenes and behind the scenes YouTube videos, read some articles...
And I also realized that the "sunglasses people" in Free Guy is a nod to this masterpiece. The more you know!
I've been consulting on a play at the City Theatre in #Pittsburgh, The Wanderers, for the plotline about a Satmar couple in the 70s, one of whom goes OTD. I've read the script, been to a table read, and tonight watched a run-through. You'd think I would stop being so affected but tonight I teared up more than before. Next time I'll see the play is opening night. I'm going to be an absolute mess.
Anyway, you should see it if you're in Pittsburgh.
