Anyone know of any tools or standards for capturing the kind of filesystem #provenance metadata (e.g. modification times) that often gets lost in #digipres upload/replication?

#OCFL, for instance, just says either use a filesystem image, or store FS metadata "in an additional file"—no suggestions as to what format that additional file might take.

I could make something up (and did, for my student project last fall), but surely someone's already thought harder about this than I have.
