How the “Nutbush” became Australia’s unofficial national dance

Most Australians learned the "daggy" line dance in primary school starting in the mid-1970s

The #Nutbush is a rebirthing of the Madison, which predated Tina Turner's song by several years (maybe decades). We were doing the Madison to Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass in high school in 1971/2. Just saying. #dancing

"5,838 participants danced for five minutes to set a new record for the largest Nutbush dance in the world, as adjudicated by the Australian Book of Records."

Tina Fkn' Turner... What else can be said... Here's a vid I uploaded of the the lady from #Nutbush in her own words circa 1980 when she was on the comeback trail, a struggling single mom chanting #NamMyhoRengeKyo between supper club sets at the Plush Room in San Francisco, interviewed by David Kleinberg for KTVU. That segment is followed by a news report on when a museum opened a decade or so back, showing her childhood home, around the time she formally renounced her US citizenship.

@Herbivore oats don't make milk. Neither do almonds or any of the other non dairy so called "milks".

That is #nutjuice, as opposed to #Nutbush which of course is where almonds etc come from.

If you need nutjuice there is a very handy point of supply arrived at by talking to the next friendly fellow who wanders by.

Unless of course you are a friendly fellow.

Enjoy. 🥔
