However, 4,200 nurses are still at the strike line at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, aiming to reach a new contract."The nation’s largest union of registered nurses fervently renewed their demand to abolish Immigration and Customs Enforcement and cease current deportation operations in American cities after a federal immigration agent shot and killed Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old registered nurse, in Minneapolis on Saturday.
“The nation’s nurses,” National Nurses United, which has more than 225,000 members nationwide, began in a statement, “who make it their mission to care for and save human lives, are horrified and outraged that immigration agents have once again committed cold-blooded murder of a public observer who posed no threat to them.”
“This time,” they continued, “they have executed one of our fellow nurses.”

Mamdani and Sanders Join Picket Line as NYC Nurses’ Strike Enters 10th Day
One contract priority is keeping ICE out of medical facilities, says nurse and lead strike organizer Michelle Gonzalez.Three good things:
1. Protesters in Minnesota are getting even more creative with their protests. One lady threw a balogna at an ICE agent driving by. She literally said this, "Oh man, I'm on fire."
I laughed so hard.
2. People are delivering food to immigrants. Which shows how far people are willing to go to protect others and ensure they get fed.
3. The nurses in my town won the union elections! Which is huge. I'm so proud of them. I hope they start to get better treatment from now on.
