Residents of #Murmansk reported the incident, according to #Agentstvo. Allegedly, an accident took place at one of the military facilities near the main naval base of #Russia’s #Northern_Fleet in #Severomorsk and at two military airfields.
The #Norwegian publication The #Barents_Observer, which geolocated the explosion footage, reports that the military airfield “#Severomorsk_1” is located 13 km from the site.
The #Northern_Fleet, in turn, could hit defence industry facilities, including a shipyard in #Britain's #Barrow_in_Furness, where warships and submarines are built.
The documents note the advantage of using nuclear weapons early in a conflict. It is also said that the high manoeuvrability of the fleet allows for sudden and massive strikes from various directions. However, it is specified that nuclear weapons should be used in combination with other means of defeat.
