We watched THE INNOCENTS (2021) last night and while I thought it was a solid horror film, I am somewhat bewildered at the 97% on RT. I'd give it a 90% - it was a unique premise, certainly full of horror, and the kids were great in it. But it wasn't a near masterpiece.

(Note that the horror contains some truly appalling animal death, so don't watch it if that's going to traumatize you.)

I watched & highly recommend the extraordinary #Katla on @Netflix.
[⚠️Caveat/TW: The show deals with grief—specifically the aftermath of maternal depression & suicide—& chronic illness & disability.]

The aesthetic of #NordicHorror & #NordicSciFic is far more foreign than the language. (Where Nordic peoples interact in these shows, English seems to be their common language). Once you develop a taste for it, it gets in your head.

#NordicNoir is now one of my favourite genres.
