anyway, until I decide who I am and where here’s another #NoodleTuesday ! Tom yam/yum is a big fav in this house now. Really simple, hot sour soup, jazzed up with a bit of veg. Straight down the line, better than I was expecting from a basic pack 3/5
Ok I’m definitely finding it hard to spread myself across three platforms, and bsky feels a bit more natural for me, but maybe I haven’t given mastodon enough time? Or maybe it’s time to differentiate and have one that’s just professional (tbh that should be twitter as it’s my biggest audience). But where to put #NoodleTuesday and #GardenFlowers posts then?
#NoodleTuesday I had to google instructions for these after translating all the text on the packaging showed there were no instructions. Usually 600ml noodles turn out too wet but these sucked the water up and thickened the sauce really nicely. Good savoury depth, slightly less keen on the dehydrated veg 4/5
I’ve been slacking at cross posting my #NoodleTuesday adventures, but today’s dinner was a nice change - I do miss the spice but strong sesame garlic is a good alternative 4/5
#NoodleTuesday - I just got delivery of the next season (summer 2023) of noodles@so we are down the the few pockets that looked least inspiring. These are actually pretty good though - the dried veg rehydrated to actually have texture, the noodles were chewy and the stock had just enough spice to cut through the hyfever fog. 3.5/5
#NoodleTuesday - I made pasta for the first time yesterday so today I made my own noodles! They’re a bit thick but I’m scoring myself 5/5 anyway for trying. Sauce is vegetarian oyster sauce, mirin, soy and a kid of spring onions.
Very late dinner noodles for #NoodleTuesday because of evening work commitments, so I picked the quickest and easiest! You need the whole chilli sachet to get any heat, and I’ve learnt with indomie soupy style versions to use less water than they say but still, solid savoury middle of the road 2.5/5
#NoodleTuesday #VanNoodles - bowl cooked on Benbecula, think this is our most northerly noodles yet! Complex savoury flavour, maybe with tarragon? Texture of noodles great, ‘meat’ not so much 4/5 (yes it’s a stock packet photo - for some reason I had a camera fail taking a picture of the packet 🤷‍♀️)
#NoodleTuesday someone has a sniffle so I was hoping this would be a good sinus clearer… it was actually a bit milder than I’d expected (or maybe we’re becoming chilli tolerant). Fab chewy thick noodles and a deep tomato based flavour though - very filling 3.5/5
Our #NoodleTuesday is international today! B is in Brussels so he picked one that is easy to make with limited supplies in a hotel (but his is fancier than mine, he added peas) clean and fresh, peppery spice, good texture. Middle of the road 3/5
