Further to my post about toolbar buttons for vertical alignment in table cells in #Microsoft #Word, #NisusWriterPro and #Pages, here are the buttons in… #Microsoft #PowerPoint.
Oh no! It’s almost like the PowerPoint engineers and the Word engineers don’t even talk to each other at #Microsoft. How could that possibly be?
(Microsoft generally doesn’t care about consistency with other Mac apps. They obviously don’t care about consistency with THEIR other Mac apps either.) https://toot.community/@betalogue/110543979770898774

Attached: 2 images Compare and contrast: UI for VERTICAL alignment of text inside table cells in #Microsoft #Word vs. #NisusWriterPro. Sure, the buttons in NWP might in theory mislead the user into thinking that the text will also become centered HORIZONTALLY. However, have anyone ever been confused? I have not. It seems obvious to me that, in the context of these table tools, the row of buttons is for VERTICAL alignment only and will not affect the text’s horizontal alignment (which, to be clear, it does not).
