#NickFletcher, Conservative MP for the Don Valley since 2019, has just announced on the television programme #DailyPolitics that his constituents sent him to Parliament 'to keep our country #sovereign'.

he is probably not alone in his party in believing this constitutional nonsense.
#RobinsonCrusoe was sovereign (his right there was none to dispute: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexander_Selkirk). But once he met #ManFriday, he was living in community.
Aktuell ist in #UK seitens der Regierung bzw. des DepartmentsforEducation ein Papier in Planung über den Umgang mit #trans Schüler*innen.
Es wurde Druck ausgeübt von #Tory-MPs um #MiriamCates & #NickFletcher die direkt erreichen wollen, dass es Schüler*innen ganz verboten werden soll trans zu sein.
Das zeigt deutlich auf, in was für einer üblen Zeit wir leben, in der es als tolerabel gilt ein Verbot von Minderheiten zu fordern.
