Our Favorite Solutions After 150 Podcast Episodes | Lucas Grindley
🎉 With this week’s Next City podcast, we’re celebrating our 150th episode! 🥳 At the top of every show, I always say we're here to highlight good ideas and help "spread solutions from one city to the next city." It’s what we’ve always done. Our founders, 22 years ago, said Next City was created to talk about cities as places where good things happen, not just as sources of problems. Research has shown that solutions journalism makes readers more likely to act, donate, support an organization, or change their opinions. Solutions unlock our beliefs about what’s possible. So over these past four years hosting the podcast, we’ve shared solutions that recognize human dignity, that ask people what they need and help them get it, and never doubt whether they deserve it. The stories on the Next City podcast have shown what’s possible when you have your heart in the right place. I know that many of our readers are hoping for a time when we get to rebuild all that’s been torn down or is being destroyed. One day, maybe there will be an equivalent backlash against the incursions on Americans’ rights to justice and equity in cities. And maybe that response will generate lots of momentum for the types of solutions we cover. I hope so. At the same time, everyone at Next City knows there are so many more people we need to reach. And I hope we find ways to increase our capacity to do even more while keeping our core work, like this podcast, going. #solutionsjournalism #nonprofitnews https://lnkd.in/e_TPAM24
