Walked downtown and paid for my annual subscription to the local newspaper (print and digital) with cash and then had a nice chat with the editor who is also my neighbor.
Here's a photo from the town's historical society (basically me and a few others) of the newspaper's offices--same building I was in today--with women seated at typesetting desks getting the paper ready, back in the day.

Look at the data. People are done with national media. Trust is moving local. That’s where legitimacy is being rebuilt, town by town. The old gatekeepers are losing control of the narrative.
