Switching from #MastodonApp to #Tusky for the foreseeable future. Main reason being that Tusky allows me to search and follow hashtags. Couldn't figure out how to follow hashtags on mastodon app.

Yes, I know I can follow hashtags on desktop but I hardly ever am in front of a desktop computer while using social media.
I am open for other app suggestions.

Hashtags are waaaay more useful here in the #Fediverse than they are on other sites, given your posts are not being automatically boosted into people's timelines, be sure to follow and use them if you want a lively timeline populated with posts about topics you find interesting

I’ve seen a lot of new users ask about apps saving your place in the timeline. The @tootapp beta is the only one I’ve seen that does that so far. Hoping more come soon but it's an interesting take on a Mastodon app and has some fun bits to it, worth checking out if you're on iOS. #NewUserTip

You can get an RSS feed of your posts by adding .rss to the end of your profile URL which lets you do all sorts of things (IFTTT is your friend) - via @KittyUnpretty #NewUserTip

Use content warnings (the CW button) to hide potentially objectionable content until people choose to see it (profanity, hateful messages, etc.). It really helps keep this a nicer, more friendly place to be. #NewUserTip
