Well, that happened! Enormous thanks to our Director, Glynis Leyshon, and this incredible cast who brought our new play “Sixteen Saturdays“ to life in front of its first audience (a full house!) yesterday at a staged reading in The Annex Theatre, Toronto.

So at the end of June, we had the second draft of 'Sixteen Saturdays' read at a workshop lead by friend and Shaw Festival director Glynis Leyshon - as hosted by The Belfry Theatre in Victoria, BC Canada. Very exciting! And from what came from that, Andrew Sabiston, Mike Petersen and I have just wrapped up Draft 3. Interest is being shown... #theatre #newplays

…and the follow-up here is: I won! The Oktavist was announced this morning as the winner of the inaugural Gary Garrison Playwriting Award for Ten Minute Plays. There’s a cash award, a production at Tusculum University in April, and publication in The Tusculum Review in the fall. I’m thrilled. #playwrights #playwriting #newplays #theater
