I have mixed feelings about the new left party in the UK.

I can understand why so many on the left feel frustrated and angry with the current Labour government.

In addition, as this Compass article notes, the move towards a new party indicates that something is wrong with the current party system and the FPTP electoral system

Just what we need, another new party in the UK 'on the left'! Almost every month there is a new announcement of someone or a small group purporting to launch a new 'mass party' to represent the working class. Why can't someone organise a 'Fight-back conference' to bring all left groups together and form a United Front against the anti-democratic forces in society?
