Recently I found this in AI-rewritten docs: "On first startup, the server automatically generates a self-signed certificate." โ€” wasn't true. But sounded kinda right.

So we had internal discussion. Someone said "actually... that makes sense for quick test setups."

It shipped in 6.1. ๐Ÿ™‚

Has this ever happened to you? ๐Ÿ™‚

NetXMS 6.1 is out ๐ŸŽ‰

This one has the Oxidized integration I built about a month ago โ€” network device config backups are now a thing.
Also OTLP for the OpenTelemetry crowd.

We ran polls on LinkedIn and Mastodon asking whether people actually use RANCID anymore. Turns out: not really. So Oxidized it is โ€” we'll add RANCID only if someone explicitly asks.
Community-driven decisions feel good.

Tomorrow Iโ€™ll be doing a #NetXMS webinar about AI-powered anomaly detection, dashboard templates and alarm correlation.

I was advised to also show the #Oxidized integration. The code is in the repo and mentioned in the changelog โ€” but itโ€™s not in an official release yet. Nothing is secret.

Still, Iโ€™m unsure about presenting features users canโ€™t immediately use.

As users, how do you feel when a demo shows something not yet released?

Exciting?
Neutral?
Or slightly disappointing?

And already got first bug report with Microsoft SQL upgrade problem. - https://github.com/netxms/netxms/issues/252

Please test and report problems back. Let's make 6.0.1 soon.

So, #FOSDEM has ended, and I got back home charged with new ideas and enthusiasm for further #NetXMS development. You can't stay indifferent when watching so many great people passionately talk about their projects and life. It was a wonderful conference!
I was happy to see familiar faces and to meet new ones. Thank you to everyone who found me saying "Hi!".
Going to #fosdem
Will be happy to discuss new features in #NetXMS
Would you be confident in asking random people to disconnect, reconnect and mix network cables connecting your network switches? The #NetXMS folks surely are, here at the #UbuntuSummit

@rolle I use both #LibreNMS (linux-centric - SNMP or librenms agent only), and annoying to contribute to, and #NetXMS which is awesome, java based, easy to contribute to, but with a learning curve like this: /
#Grafana is nice for graphics, but is no monitoring system...

I could demo either of them via #jitsi or similar sometime if you're interested...
