Standing Figures featured at the #NelsonAtkins museum of art in #KansasCity ✨ Polish artist Magdalena Abakanowicz has her exhibit in the Donald J. Hall Sculpture Park as a permanent part of its collection. Some people find the thirty, 6ft fellows without heads a bit ominous.

Artist Zeke Henry and friends created an 8-foot-tall snow sculpture resembling a giant butt on the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art lawn in Kansas City. Passersby have been delighted by the playful creation.

Henry said, “Everyone has a butt and likes a good one, so it made sense.”

Snow sculptures are ephemeral, but their impact can be lasting.

A giant butt appeared on the Nelson-Atkins' snowy lawn. This cheeky artist is behind it

The huge new snow sculpture can be seen on the south lawn of the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, not far from the museum’s iconic “Shuttlecocks.” It’s the latest cold collaboration from former Kansas City Art Institute students.

Who can make heads or tails out of this provenance for a #Gauguin at the #NelsonAtkins #Museum of #Art?

Did #Thannhauser own it?
If so, when?
What versions of the story are presented?
