Guest article by Dipl. Ing. Jürgen Uphoff: "The #Quantum Theory - Methodical #Criticism"
I met the author of this essay, Jürgen Uphoff, by a stroke of luck. He had placed an advertisement in a Münster city newspaper to found a working group interested in natural science and philosophy called "#Naturphilosophie". I thought it was a great idea and we met for a preliminary discussion, which I found very exciting and informative, as Jürgen seems to have a lot in common with me.
However, his passion has always been philosophy. In this respect, there were enough interfaces for a cooperation in the working group "Natural Philosophy" and for a "joint-venture" of a guest contribution on a scientific-philosophical topic "Quantum Theory - Methodological Critique".
In my view, the topic he dealt with here also fitted in perfectly with Bernd's guest contribution on my site "Das Ding an sich" and the numerous comments, since here too the reference to the lack of superservability and methodological criticism of "quantum theory" was frequently expressed. It was therefore time to take a closer look at the historical developments of the underlying concepts.
And this is exactly what Jürgen describes here in his essay on the scientific history of quantum theory from a philosophical perspective, which can also be read as a criticism of the methodology used. Or like a famous quote "We are mistaken upwards" by the philosopher of science Gerhard Vollmer.
But before I just quote Vollmer here, I would rather let Jürgen have his say on the subject of the "#philosophy of science of natural philosophy".
