On today’s International #BiodiversityDay, we are excited to share a #CitizenScience observation from the #NatureSpots App of the Scarce Swallowtail butterfly (Iphiclides podalirius). The photo was taken yesterday on a Greek island. In many regions of Austria, this beautiful butterfly has become very rare or even extinct due to habitat loss.
