The Scottish Government has paused the National Care Service Bill and are rumoured to be preparing to scrap it altogether.

Good. It wasn't fit for purpose and wouldn't have created the free, public-owned, not-for-profit care service we need.

Until they're ready to redesign it and bring it back, here are the reforms we can pull from the Bill to help tackle the care crisis now.

Great news for campaigners for the National Care Service. ScotGov have accepted that centralising control of care under Ministers is a bad idea and have agreed that Local Authorities shall remain responsible for staff, assets and delivery of care.
