RT @thomasbrake: Tearing up 4,000 laws providing protection from workers' rights to water quality is an act of vandalism, pure and simple.
The @UKHouseofLords must bin the monstrosity that is the #retainedeulawbill

Please support this petition by Fish Legal to protect the Environmental Information Regulations which are under threat from the Retained EU Law (Revocation and Reform) Bill.
In 2015, Fish Legal won a landmark case that secured the public’s right to obtain environmental information from privatised water companies under the EIR 2004. If the Retained EU Law (Revocation and Reform) Bill is enacted these regulations will be repealed, unless the Government preserves them.
RT @CraigBennett3: Pls @michaelgove, start by ending HMG #Brexit posturing, such as #RetainedEULawBill
Ok to have a sensible debate about how former EU law should evolve in UK context
Not ok to bin 1000s of bits of important legislation for purely ideological reasons

Good thread on yet another problem with the #RetainedEULawBill - a sloppy, disastrous piece of legislation, even if you're a govt wanting to give ministers ever more power.
RT @GeorgePeretzKC: Thoughts on clause 5 of the Retained EU Law Bill. This clause tells the courts not to read legislation that was the product of our EU membership in accordance with basic rules of interpretation of EU law.

Think about it: How plausible is it that 4k pieces of EU legislation are all harmful, unnecessary, undesirable - among them 1k environmental. Even if you're EU-critical, how likely? Why not audit them & see which ones are beneficial? Why delete rules overnight w/o replacement? Bc you object to their author? Out of principle? To erase all things EU? To make renjoining difficult? Are you sure this is in the country's best interest? Are you aware of the damage? Do you care?
